ASC Server Overview:
ASC is a client-server software solution that offers both SAN and NAS access to application servers. Storage devices are aggregated and virtualized at the ASC Server (the networked storage server) via SCSI and Fibre Channel. The virtualized storage resources are then assigned to the application servers (the SAN/NAS Clients) that are connected via Ethernet IP. The application servers make use of ASC's SAN Resources via the ASC SAN Client driver, a virtual SCSI host adapter installed as a kernel-level device driver. NAS resources are accessed via the standard network redirector (both CIFS and NFS are supported). This Java-based ASC Console is used to provide end-to-end management of the entire ASC-based storage network.
From this console you can:
Right-click at the root node and Add an ASC Server into the list.
Select Tools -->Discover ASC Servers to find new ASC Servers in a
subnet.
Double-click a specific ASC Server to connect and manage the
server.
