This is a SAN Resource that is managed by ASC and is for use by SAN Clients.  It can consist of one or more sets of storage blocks from one or more physical hard disk drives or can be a direct device.

In order for the SAN Resource to be accessible by SAN Clients, the administrator needs to assign it to the appropriate Client(s).  This allows the Client(s) to mount the SAN Resource as if it were a local SCSI device.

The General tab displays current configuration and status information about this SAN Resource.

The Layout tab displays information about the physical devices that were used to create this SAN Resource.

The Clients tab displays information about the SAN Clients assigned to use this SAN Resource.

You will see one tab for each ASC storage service (such as TimeMark or Backup) that is configured for this SAN Resource.
